Motivation
The aim of constant improvement and the chance to utilize both mechanical and creative thinking is what continues to drive me. I love the idea that a product or thing should improve with advances in technology and changes in trends. It is a game of rethinking, redesigning, and the act of conceiving new designs that keeps the field of design attractive.
My objective is to develop and influence designs that enhance daily life while prioritizing style, functionality, and the impact of production.

Creativity
In all my creative pursuits my intention is to improve the world around me. I’m driven by an innate desire to design and a continuous consideration of the “what ifs”. The act of being creative has always given me energy.
Dependability
Dependability is a cornerstone of any great team member and leader. I pride myself in showing up, doing my best, and communicating my shortcomings. When tasked, people can count on me for a predictable outcome with clear communication along the way.
Acceptance
I consider myself a friend to many and a foe to none. Seeing those around me and accepting them for who they are enables more fulfilling connections. I believe acceptance is best practiced daily and begins by accepting that we all find success in different ways.

My design journey started with knitting
My design journey started with a friends grandmother, two needles and a ball of yarn. My hobby of making knitted toques quickly turned into a micro business venture, creating a custom product in the small ski town I grew up in.
This led to the creation of Maylay Techstyles (the apparel project featured in this portfolio) and my love for the field of design.
Since then i've worked as a Welder - fulfilling my desire to work with my hands, a Draftsman - utilizing my design skills and getting a taste of the field of architecture, and in various roles as a First Aider - satisfying my need for adventure.
Currently i'm working towards satisfying the portfolio requirements for admission to the Industrial Design program at Emily Carr with the intention of starting a industrial design or product design program in Canada in 2026.
